Reading List

I’ve finally gotten around to finishing Crucibles: the Story of Chemistry by Bernard Jaffe. Jaffe, from his style of writing, is a big booster for chemistry. It was was a fasinating history of the giants of chemistry.

I’ve just finished The Republican War on Science by Chris Mooney. I enjoyed it very much, if by that one means getting infuriated and cursing a lot. I pretty much knew about battles in the Evolution Wars, stem cells and global warming. I must say what has been going on with the Endangered Species Act was a bit of a shocker. Anyway it’s a good read so pick it up.

I’ve been reading a fantasy-mystery series called The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. It set in modern day Chicago and features a wizard named Harry Dresden. Admittedly it’s a bit of fluff, but I recommend it.
